Join us in Washington, DC for Families USA’s annual Health Action Conference which takes place January 23rd – 25th, 2020. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the conference. Transform Health is hosting the outreach and enrollment sessions and special events to show our appreciation for the work being done all over the country in order to help people access quality, affordable health care made possible through the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and Medicaid.

This year, we would like to especially invite advocates and supporters of enrollment work to these sessions and events to join us in honoring the work of Navigators, Certified Application Counselors, nonprofit brokers, and assisters, we know that you know the history of how long it took for these gains to be achieved. While there will be many sessions of interest hosted by the Families USA staff, Transform Health would like to highlight the following that are specific to enrollment in this post.

Session Highlights

Outreach and Enrollment Will Always be Mission Critical

The critical need for outreach and enrollment remains constant in our changing health care landscape. As the numbers of uninsured continue to increase, it’s clear that navigation is key for reaching people with the right messages at the right time. Speakers for this session include Jodi Ray, University of South Florida, Lisa Olson, Wisconsin Department of Health Services, Shelli Quenga, Palmetto Project, and Lisa Chan-Sawin, Transform Health.

Outreach and Enrollment Funding and Programming Landscape

This highly interactive session is set up in a world café format primed for small group style discussions and report-outs on the following topics influencing enrollment today, including Medicaid Administrative Claiming, Nonprofit Insurance Broker Models, addressing enabling services and social determinants of health with enrollment, public charge, and Medicaid Waivers. Facilitating this dynamic session is Heather Bates, Transform Health, in addition to Matt Slonaker, Utah Health Policy Project, Sonia Lara, Texas Association of Community Health Centers, Bethany Hamilton, National Association of Community Health Centers, with help from Sara Gleysteen and Alexis Sabor at Transform Health.

We will also have a breakfast debrief with Erin Hemlin, Young Invincibles Friday morning about open enrollment and a special celebration with the National Association of Community Health Centers on Thursday evening. There is a discount code for enrollment assister groups so please get in touch with us if you want to know more! We look forward to seeing you there.

Spread the word and join us at our networking event co-sponsored with the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC).
