Maia Kosek

Maia is a Program Associate at Transform Health. In her role, she supports our program, policy, and communications teams on a myriad of projects.

Prior to Transform Health, Maia worked as a Grants Project Manager at an affordable housing organization based in San Mateo County. There, she managed corporate, foundation, and government grant writing and reporting. She developed partnerships focused on housing as a social determinant of health – in the process creating language around the organization’s trauma-informed approach to service delivery and securing funding to launch a new program. In her role, Maia also led a client feedback project to improve program delivery, gaining valuable experience in program implementation as well as survey design, distribution, and analysis.

At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Maia supported community outreach efforts in Minneapolis-Saint Paul by serving on the Community Health Access Team at a Federally Qualified Healthcare Center (FQHC). In this role, she became a MNsure-certified navigator to support young adults receiving health services at FQHC-operated School Based Health Centers. Maia expanded her skillset in partner engagement and communications by working on a national COVID-19 vaccine equity campaign, Made to Save (an initiative of Civic Nation).

Maia earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Carleton College. She is based in Oakland, California, where she spends her time hiking, running, cooking, and exploring the restaurant scene. Maia’s first job was working on an organic farm. Ask her about her favorite varieties of tomatoes.
