
Rana Suliman, MPH
Director, Transformation
Rana Suliman joins Transform Health as Director of the Transformation Team with 15 years of progressive experience working on maternal and child health, women’s health, and health policy programming in the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors. In her recent role as Program Director at Grantmakers In Health (GIH), she directed the children and families and oral health portfolios, tracked trends in health philanthropy, developed programming and publications on emerging issues in health and health care, and provided strategic guidance to a diverse group of health funders. Prior to joining GIH, Rana was a Senior Program Manager at the Association of Reproductive Professionals (ARHP) where she managed and expanded a portfolio of women’s and reproductive health programming for health providers.
Previously, Rana was a Program Manager with Experience Corps, a nationally recognized model of creating healthier communities via an intergenerational, positive youth development program for low-income families and children. She also held a position as the Health Assistance Partnership Education and Training Associate with Families USA, where she developed education and training tools designed to expand the capacity of Volunteer Programs within selected State Health Insurance Assistance Programs (SHIPs) amidst the Medicare Part D rollout. She has held a range of consulting roles in global and community health, as well as anti-racism initiatives.
Rana is skilled in program design and management, strategic planning, consensus building, and training. She approaches her work with a health equity lens and is passionate about leveraging upstream solutions to address health disparities for vulnerable children and youth, women, and communities. Rana holds a Bachelor’s degree in sociology and Spanish from Franklin & Marshall College and a Master of Public Health from the George Washington University Milken Institute of Public Health. Based in Washington, DC, Rana is a music enthusiast and avid reader who is always planning her next travel adventure.
