Victor Garibay
PROGRAM ASSOCIATE
Victor Garibay serves as a Program Associate for Transform Health. Working on varying projects, Victor primarily focuses on supporting the statewide implementation of CalAIM initiatives.
Before joining Transform Health, Victor served as a Program Associate for two years with the California Health Benefits Review Program (CHBRP). There he discovered his passion for health care, health policy and health equity. Through his experience at CHBRP, Victor gained project and administrative management skills, supported stakeholder engagement, and furthered research project opportunities. One of the highlights of his experience at CHBRP was presenting his research findings on state and federal laws that pertain to the diabetic population in California at the American Public Health Association in Boston (2022).
Victor joins Transform Health with years of experience volunteering at health care clinics around the Sacramento and Bay area, which include Clinic de la Raza (Oakland, CA) and the Clinic by the Bay (San Francisco, CA). Utilizing his translation skills, Victor bridged providers and patients with language barriers. A native Sacramentan, having grown up in multiple disadvantaged communities in South Sacramento, Victor remains grounded in his lived experiences and prioritizes health care system transformation.
Victor earned his bachelor’s degree in public health with a minor in public policy from the University of California, Berkeley. Outside of work, Victor enjoys going to the gym, spending time with his friends, and traveling. And, during the pandemic, Victor learned how to knit!
